The Singer 7256 Fashion Mate sewing machine was awarded the Consumer Digest Best Buy Award for good reason.
Users love the easy controls and feature set. The high marks from other users mean we might have finally found a Singer option that reminds us why this manufacturer was the standard for home sewing machines for as long as it was.
Released in 2009, this model is an upgrade to the 7466 and if you look at the two side by side you’ll see that the design has been completely redone. It’s much more stylish with rounded corners and a fun, green splash across the bottom.

The sturdy base and boxy construction of the Singer 4411 Heavy Duty sewing machine are reminiscent of reliable machines we’re used to seeing from this manufacturer and it’s not just subliminal.
This machine does something special. It mixes some of the must-haves of today’s home sewing machines with power like a commercial machine so that hobbyists who need speed and strength in a light weight unit can have it without spending loads of money.

The Singer 7258 sewing machine is about to become the best rated Singer on this site. Lots of stitches, accessories, positive reviews, and my favorite buttons make this one a winner.
In fact, this gives a few of the most popular Brother machines a run for their money. If you’re heart is set on this brand read through the details below. I think you’ll find this is an ideal choice whether you’re looking for your first machine, a replacement for an older one or as a gift for a beginner.

Here’s a final list of last minute sewing machine deals for your 2010 holiday shopping. I hope it saves some of you some time and a few dollars, too.
In typical fashion, I’ve crammed too much into this final week before Christmas which is why I love online shopping. I prefer my pajamas, a bathrobe and a cup of cinnamon coffee for finding deals rather than the hustle and bustle of the mall. (Actually, it’s not the mall I mind. It’s the parking lot!)
This means that I’m doing my Christmas shopping online tonight and I took some notes any time I came across a deal I thought worth sharing here. Hope this gives some of you just the idea or savings you were hoping to find for under the tree!

The best sewing machines for denim have a few things in common. Knowing what those are in advance will help you zero in on the ideal choices for your type of projects.
One benefit of having your own sewing machine is being able to hem your own jeans but people do a lot more with versatile denim. It can be used for heavy duty work coveralls or for cool, chic denim handbags. The type of sewing you intend to do with denim will help you find the right machine.

The Singer 2263 Simple sewing machine reminds me that nothing with a front-loading bobbin should ever be allowed to use the word “simple” in its name.
If you read the post I wrote about my run in with my mom’s old Viking machine, you’ll know that front-loading bobbins and I are not friends. They’re not impossible to use, they’re just not easy.
In fact, most people really like this machine except for one, repetitive issue – problems with the bobbin thread. Somehow, I’m not surprised.

Are you concerned about whether or not there are metal or plastic parts in the sewing machines on your shopping list? We’ve all been warned by our mothers, our friends, or our sewing club circle that we should avoid plastic at all costs.
However, it’s really not as bad as one might think (she said even though she could envision her mother rolling her eyes and waving to heaven, “Have I taught her NOTHING??!!”)

I am enchanted by computerized sewing machines. I’m fairly technical in nature anyway so anything with buttons and screens doesn’t scare me – in fact, I’m rather addicted to them. I did, however, get to see what these newer sewing machines might feel like to someone with much more sewing experience than myself. A very interesting perspective.

Sewing machine shopping is not nearly as easy as I would have thought. In fact, today’s little excursion produced several tips I’d like to pass along to those of you also looking for your first, second, or third sewing machine.
These might seem like really basic shopping tips but I really didn’t understand how significantly they applied to sewing machines until I returned home this afternoon. My day didn’t quite go as planned and I hope this piece of shopping advice will save you some of the same aggravation.

The Singer 7468 sewing machine is not widely available but some sewing outlets do still have this model on hand. The stitch patterns and features are exactly the same as the 7469. The only differences between the two are the color accent on the front of the machines and the machine dimensions.
Singer no longer shows this as a current model on their website but it’s still a sewing machine worth considering if only for the price discount as compared to the 7469.
