The Brother LB6800PRW sewing machine may be the replacement model for the popular Brother SE400 combination sewing and embroidery machine. The only difference between the two is the model number, the Project Runway label and the included rolling tote bag. The other difference? The LB6800PRW is usually in stock whereas the SE400 has slowly been disappearing from retailers inventories.
Brother’s year end rebate through 2010 for the SE400 was perhaps a sign of things to come. Since the start of 2011, finding the SE400 in stock has been rough but the Brother LB6800PRW is still regularly available at places like Amazon.

Here are a few ideas to help you cover the cost of a new sewing machine and have fun doing so at the same time. You might even find yourself with a nice, little business on your hands.
While a new sewing machine doesn’t have to cost a fortune, considering today’s economy, even a few hundred dollars might seem out of reach for many but a little bit of imagination and effort could make it much easier to afford.

Know a student who is taking a sewing machine to college? I bet some do but it didn’t really hit me until I walked into Joanne’s the other day and saw – unexpectedly – a ton of dorm room décor right up front.
This was unexpected for two reasons the first of which came in the form of “Dear Lord, school starting up again so soon?” and the second was that I had sewing machines and fabric on my mind and seeing small dust pans with mini brushes and plastic drawer organizers in multi-colors wasn’t quite what I thought I’d see when I first walked in to a well-known fabric and sewing notions store.

Brother LS2125i 10 Stitch Sewing Machine
The Brother LS2125i is a great sewing machine for beginners who want to handle the occasional basic mending tasks, dressmaking, clothing, and home decorating projects and don’t want to spend a lot of money. At less than $100 this is a perfect starter setup for light tasks. It’s also a great machine for kids.
It’s portable, electric and has a built in handle tucked in the back for easy movement. The machine is white with light and medium blue trim.
