The Singer 7256 Fashion Mate sewing machine was awarded the Consumer Digest Best Buy Award for good reason.
Users love the easy controls and feature set. The high marks from other users mean we might have finally found a Singer option that reminds us why this manufacturer was the standard for home sewing machines for as long as it was.
Released in 2009, this model is an upgrade to the 7466 and if you look at the two side by side you’ll see that the design has been completely redone. It’s much more stylish with rounded corners and a fun, green splash across the bottom.

The Janome DC1050 sewing machine is a new model for 2011. No snazzy color accents here – just a super affordable machine with precision stitching, lots of automation, and a powerful DC motor. This one is obviously a powerhouse with a no-nonsense attitude!
It costs about the same as basic starter machines that come with a lot less. For about $300 you can buy a high quality machine with lots of automation built by one of the most respected brands in the industry. It’s the kind of deal that makes you feel like you’re getting away with something sneaky!

The Singer 7258 sewing machine is about to become the best rated Singer on this site. Lots of stitches, accessories, positive reviews, and my favorite buttons make this one a winner.
In fact, this gives a few of the most popular Brother machines a run for their money. If you’re heart is set on this brand read through the details below. I think you’ll find this is an ideal choice whether you’re looking for your first machine, a replacement for an older one or as a gift for a beginner.

Initially, the Brother XR9000 sewing machine was available almost exclusively at Costco but it’s recently become available at several other locations. An included hard cover case and extension table, lots of automation and a low price are hard to ignore.
It might look familiar, too, as it’s identical to another popular Brother model – the SQ9000.

The Janome 3160 QDC sewing machine was built with quilters in mind. All the best quilting needs are built right in! Want to do other types of sewing? No problem.
Beautiful stitches are a given with Janomes but you’re also going to get an extra long extension table, the latest feed dog system, complete button operation for all functions and the whole thing is packed into a full-size machine that weighs just over 12 pounds.

The Janome JNH1860 sewing machine commemorates Janome’s celebration of 150 years of great sewing. It’s a great showcase of some of the best in automation and quick set up along with a beautiful collection of stitches.
This one’s not yet available online so I’m off to visit my local dealer to gather more information in the next day or two. Wanted to post this much, at least, to satisfy the request from a recent site visitor.

The Brother CE 5500PRW sewing machine is one of the least expensive Project Runway machines you can buy. This is a compact, lightweight machine with lots of features suitable for making clothes, light quilting and free-motion embroidery.
It’s been awarded a Consumers Digest ‘Best Buy’ Award and, for now, Walmart.com is the only authorized dealer.
It’s smaller and lighter than comparable machines making it highly portable.

The Brother CE4000 sewing machine has a nice assortment of stitches including some adorable decorative stitches, great automation and easy set up features for beginners and at under $200 it’s quite a deal.
It doesn’t get the attention it deserves, though, for two reasons: its companions the Brother ES2000 and the CS6000i.
I don’t know who or what is driving this issue, but the other two sewing machines cost the same or less and one, in particular, has SIGNIFICANTLY greater functionality.

The Janome DC3050 sewing machine offers precision stitching in a solidly built design with great features. It’s pretty, is a nice weight for home use, and – most importantly – is a high quality sewing machine. Beginners who want to explore a variety of sewing projects will get many years of value from this machine.
It was apparent upon review of all the features, though, that one should compare the DC3050 to the Janome DC2010 for a full understanding of choices and price savings. I’ve outlined the differences between the two at the end of the Features section of this review.

The Janome 8077 computerized sewing machine features and stitches might look awfully familiar and yet you’ll have a hard time finding anything out about this particular model from Janome. There’s no listing for it on their website and no manual available online. Why? Because it is exactly like the Janome Magnolia 7330 but without the pretty Magnolia graphics.
My guess is that this model was manufactured originally for another country or maybe it was a private label arrangement with some company at one point because Hancock Fabrics appears to have sold this machine for an extended period of time.
