The Janome DC1050 sewing machine is a new model for 2011. No snazzy color accents here – just a super affordable machine with precision stitching, lots of automation, and a powerful DC motor. This one is obviously a powerhouse with a no-nonsense attitude!
It costs about the same as basic starter machines that come with a lot less. For about $300 you can buy a high quality machine with lots of automation built by one of the most respected brands in the industry. It’s the kind of deal that makes you feel like you’re getting away with something sneaky!

The Juki HZL-35Z sewing machine is a solid, smooth, precision machine with 27 built in stitches and a superior feed dog system. It’s a nice sized sewing machine with a blend of practical garment construction stitches, stretch stitches, and satin stitches.
This machine is one of a handful that bring Juki’s strong reputation for industrial sewing machines to the home sewing machine market. It’s easy to use, reliable, and runs smoothly.

The Janome 8077 computerized sewing machine features and stitches might look awfully familiar and yet you’ll have a hard time finding anything out about this particular model from Janome. There’s no listing for it on their website and no manual available online. Why? Because it is exactly like the Janome Magnolia 7330 but without the pretty Magnolia graphics.
My guess is that this model was manufactured originally for another country or maybe it was a private label arrangement with some company at one point because Hancock Fabrics appears to have sold this machine for an extended period of time.

The Singer Confidence 7469Q Quilter sewing machine is not only value priced but comes with bonus accessories that make quilting easy for beginners and takes your purchase dollars even further.
This machine was running around $399 around the end of 2009 (and that was a sale price!) but the price has dropped significantly making it a great deal for a feature-rich quilting sewing machine.

Last year, the Janome AQS 2009 computerized sewing machine was released to help celebrate the American Quilter’s Society’s twenty-fifth anniversary.
This compact machine includes a selection of features geared towards quilting.
Little things like blanket stitches, a drop feed dog lever, a start/stop button and the ability to have the needle stop in either the up or down position as you decide all add up to a more controlled sewing experience.

Sewers love the quality of Janome machines and the Janome Sewist 500 sewing machine does not disappoint.
It is a nice, sturdy machine that runs quietly, includes the kind of automation that helps you set up the machine quickly, and can do everything from mending to quilting, including free motion embroidery.
There aren’t as many decorative stitches as some of the less expensive machines but what you get in exchange is a worthy trade-off.

The Singer 7467 Confidence sewing machine is more advanced than most beginners may need at first but if you already know you’re going to get into more complex projects down the road, the features, automation and flexibility that come with this sewing machine are pretty intriguing and it’s still reasonably priced.
While most of the settings are automated, they are also adjustable as needed. Think of it as a sewing machine with training wheels.
