Sortable table of sewing machines for beginners to be used to compare high level features and accessories.

Get a quick overview of sewing machines for beginners using the table above. The guide provides a condensed snapshot about each model for which we’ve written a review. Sort by any of the column headings or enter a brand, model number or other criteria in the Search box to filter the results.

Click the model name to visit our review of that sewing machine.
Click the machine price to check current Amazon pricing and in-stock conditions.

(In two cases, Overstock or Target ratings were used in place of the Amazon rating because no such rating was available.)

Please note, the table doesn’t sort accurately by price.  This truly bothers me because it was the sole reason I switched to a sortable format.  All of the other columns sort accurately.  I’ve tried a number of fixes and none have made a difference in the price column.  This table is still an upgrade from what was available before, however.  The previous version was a static page that was color coded but not sortable. It seemed more user friendly to have something visitors could sort and filter to narrow down this long (and growing) list to something more manageable.

To narrow down the list, make use of the Search box located just above the table.  If you type “100″ into the search box, for example, you’ll get only the machines that have a “100″ in the price box anywhere and the rest of the sewing machines will drop from the list.  Clear the search box again to return to the entire list of beginner sewing machines. You can do the same with brand or any of the other features.  If you’re only interested in Janome, for instance, type “Janome” (without quotes) into the search box and you’ll only see the list of Janome sewing machine reviews.

If you use this table at all, I’d love to hear your feedback!
